Bastrop is for families who want breathing room. The schools are improving, the community is invested, and the housing prices give families options they wouldn’t have closer to Austin. It’s a 30-40 minute commute to southeast Austin, which is manageable for many. Bastrop ISD may not top the rating charts, but the families I’ve worked with here appreciate the value and the pace of life.
